* First of all you should know that the amount of food should be drastically reduced, eat less but many times a day.

* Avoid fat products, high sugar content food, and milk.

* Have a liquid based diet drinking soups, fruit and vegetable juice. Drink a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration and flush viruses out of the body. A hot chicken soup will make you feel better. Choose beverages that don’t have any added sugar.

1. Garlic may boost your immune system increasing your body’s resistance to infections and stress. To improve garlic’s benefits after crushing it let it for few minutes before adding it to your food.

2. Ginger. Slice one ounce of fresh ginger and add a pint of hot water to make a tea that induce sweating and decrease nausea. You may want to add some lemon and honey to taste when it’s already chilled.

3. Yogurt and other cultured milk products contain probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria with immune-supporting effects.

4. Choose products that contain zinc – an important mineral with essential role in proper functioning of the immune system. It may be found in meat, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, oysters, sesame seeds and sesame butter, squash and watermelon seeds, dark chocolate and cocoa powder.

5. Vitamin C products are highly recommended when treating cold or flu: sweet red pepper, strawberries, Brussels sprouts, orange, broccoli, grapefruit, cantaloupe, tomatoes, tangerines, kiwi fruits, papayas, dark leafy greens, fresh herbs, guavas and cabbage.

6. When fever is more prominent than chills in common cold, combine celery juice with a small amount of lemon juice.
